Welcome to Aspen, the American capital of skiing. It's not just a resort, pistes and hotels, it's a true legend that's over 70 years old. The beautiful Roaring Fork Valley, where Aspen is located, offers all the pleasures at once: boutiques and clubs, restaurants and concerts of top stars. And 200 kilometers of incomparable trails for both beginners and super-professionals.
The town was founded back in 1879 as a silver mining camp. Over time, as skiing began to develop, in 1941 it became a small resort with wooden houses. Now it is one of the best ski areas in America and Europe, on par with French Chamonix, German Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Swiss Davos. World Cup competitions are regularly held here.
Aspen's season runs from November to April. All five months there is about 11 m of soft snow on the slopes and the sun shines bright. Therefore, tours to the ski resort of Aspen in the U.S. are popular not only with Americans, but also tourists from all over the world. The town offers accommodation in hotels, fashionable private clubs, chalets, and apartments.
Because of the special charm of Aspen, the rare charm of Snowmass Village and the striking beauty of the Colorado Mountains, Aspen/Snowmass Resort remains the soul of the ski part of North America. The resort has four ski areas of varying difficulty levels. The highest point is 3,813 m, and the elevation changes range from 619 m to 1,343 m. Skiing on all slopes of the four mountains associated with a single network of elevators, is available on a single ski-pass. Aspen peculiarity - there are no lines at the elevators, in the high season, the queue does not take more than five minutes.
Snowmass is for an intermediate level of skiing. There are tracks for beginners with wide gentle slopes, and for professionals - between the trees and hillocks.
Aspen Mountain is more suitable for intermediate and professional skiers. There are good trails with virgin, bumps, between trees, from the top to the gorges - black, red, and blue.
Aspen Highlands is suitable for everyone, but it's the challenging trails that are best known here. Some have been open since 1997 and are located in Highland Bowl (the most challenging trails in Colorado).
A fourth area, Buttermilk, is suitable for intermediate level and beginners.
