  The Museum of Modern Art, one of New York City's main attractions, was founded in 1929. It is a place that generates creativity and inspires new ideas. The purpose of the museum is to help you understand and enjoy contemporary art. The museum features works by world-renowned artists without whom it is impossible to imagine art of the 20th century - Van Gogh's "Starry Night," Matisse's "Dance," Picasso's "Girls of Avignon," Dali's "Permanent Memory" and much more. Each year the museum receives more than 2 million visitors. Opening hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 10.30 to 17.30; Friday from 10.30 to 20.00; Tuesday is a weekend.
