A crowded promenade with many souvenir stores, a favorite stroll place for tourists. The old port is almost entirely devoted to entertainment. From here begins almost all the excursions on the famous old streetcar.
The Fisherman's Wharf is a historic district that traces its history back to the gold rush of the mid-19th century. Today, there are more than 400 boats ranging from old fishing boats to modern vessels. The marina area is also home to such attractions as the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, the Mechanical and Wax Museum, a cannery, and an old chocolate factory.
